North Gate Organics CSA Program

CSA stands for Community Shared Agriculture.  This food distribution model unites the farmer and the consumer for the growing season.  The program provides the customer with a box of fresh, seasonal vegetables each week from the beginning of June until mid-October (20 weeks).  In return, the farmer receives capital when it is most needed at the beginning of the season, and develops a direct relationship with the customer.

Examples of Vegetables in Season:
June- lettuce mix, spring peas, radishes, green onions, arugula, spinach, white Japanese turnips, dill, cilantro, broccoli, bok choy, and beets

July- lettuce mix, carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, beans, arugula, lettuce mix, cherry tomatoes, summer squash, beets, and cabbage

August- lettuce mix, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, beets, beans, eggplant, summer squash, lettuce mix, cucumbers, fennel, melons, onions, and potatoes

September and October- lettuce mix, broccoli, cauliflower, peppers, potatoes, winter squash, pumpkins, melons, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, beets, eggplant, and cabbage
