The Farmers
Tracy’s farming background started on a dairy farm just outside of Paris, ON where at a young age she discovered the value of fresh local food and strong work ethics. These values followed her to B.C. in 2006 where she apprenticed under Mary Alice Johnson of ALM Farm through the SOIL program. She not only learned how to grow delicious organic food, but she became part of an important movement. On returning to Ontario, Tracy assisted individuals in starting their own backyard gardens and worked at Greenfields Organic Farm. During this time she pursued her love of photography and completed an honours diploma at Humber College in Creative Photography. Realizing her true passion was in food, she enrolled in the Sustainable Agriculture program at Fleming College. This program led her to Tiny Farm, Peterborough for her Co-op Placement that gave her a first hand experience at starting a small farm.
